What is Africa Day?
On Africa Day, we commemorate the founding of the Organisation of African Unity on 25 May 1963. Various countries on the African continent, as well as around the world, celebrate Africa Day annually. Africa Day celebrates and acknowledge the successes of the Organisation of African Unity and the progress that Africa has made, while reflecting on the common challenges that the continent faces in a global environment.
